The F4 Indian Championship and Indian Racing League, both part of the Indian Racing Festival, are working to create more opportunities for young racers to compete internationally. As part of this effort, the series is now looking to expand its calendar with more street races in Indian cities.

So far, the races have mostly taken place on permanent tracks like the Madras International Circuit and Kari Motor Speedway. However, last year, the series introduced its first-ever street race on the new Chennai street circuit. Despite some initial challenges, the event was successful in drawing attention to the Indian Racing Festival and making motorsport more accessible to fans.

Now, organizers want to add more city-based races. Reddy, one of the key figures behind the series, confirmed that they are exploring several locations. Goa is a strong candidate, but it is still uncertain whether it will be included in the 2025 season, which is expected to start in August.

“We have shortlisted six possible locations, but we need to check how practical they are,” Reddy explained. “We also want to make sure the race doesn’t cause too much trouble for local residents, as the roads will be closed for two days.”

Film star and Indian Racing League team owner John Abraham was also present at the event. His team, Goa Aces JA Racing, won last year’s championship, and he is eager to bring the race to Goa.

I'm excited about the prospect of racing in Goa," Abraham said. “The Indian Racing League follows an international format, and since Goa is a popular global destination, it’s a great fit. As the owner of Goa Aces, having a race on my home turf would be very special.”

With the league planning more street races, Indian motorsport is set to become more exciting and accessible, creating new opportunities for drivers and fans alike.
