Indian Motorcycles Unveils the Sport Chief RT for 2025

Indian Motorcycles has expanded its Chief Cruiser lineup with the introduction of the Sport Chief RT, positioned as the sportiest model in the range.

What’s New in the Sport Chief RT?

The Sport Chief RT builds on the existing Sport Chief model and comes equipped with the Thunderstroke 116ci (1890cc), air-cooled, V-twin engine, delivering 156Nm of torque. This is slightly less than the Sport Chief, which produces 162Nm of torque.

Suspension and Wheels

The Sport Chief RT stands out as the only model in the lineup to feature inverted KYB front forks, although these are non-adjustable. The rear suspension includes twin Fox shocks, adjustable remotely for compression and rebound. It rides on 19-inch front and 16-inch rear alloy wheels, wrapped in Metzeler Cruisetec tyres for enhanced grip and performance.

Braking System

The braking setup consists of twin Brembo 4-piston calipers with dual-channel ABS. These calipers are radially mounted, offering better braking performance compared to the axially mounted ones found on other Chief models.

Features and Technology

The Sport Chief RT includes premium features straight from the factory that are optional on other models:

• Locking Rigid Saddlebags: With 37 liters of combined storage, these weatherproof saddlebags are available as an accessory for other Chief models.
• 3.97-inch Touch TFT Display: This touch-operated screen provides access to essential information, music controls, audio settings, and riding data. It also features two gauge display styles and offers handlebar controls for convenience during rides.
• Three Ride Modes: Riders can switch between Sport, Standard, and Tour modes to suit different riding preferences.
• Keyless Ignition: Adds a layer of convenience and modern functionality.

Styling and Design

The Sport Chief RT features a bold and aggressive design that sets it apart. Highlights include:

• A small visor above the front bikini fairing for a sporty touch.
• Taller handlebars for a comfortable yet commanding riding position.
• An adaptive LED headlight that adjusts the beam based on the bike’s lean angle, optimizing visibility during cornering.

With its advanced features, sporty design, and upgraded components, the Indian Sport Chief RT is poised to appeal to cruiser enthusiasts who value performance and practicality.
