The upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross, which was first showcased as a concept in October 2024, has now surfaced in leaked patent images. Thanks to a report by motor.es, we get a first look at the production-ready version of this next-gen SUV. Built on Stellantis' STLA Medium platform, the new C5 Aircross largely sticks to the design language of the concept. Citroen plans to introduce the latest C5 Aircross before the year ends.
Exterior Design Updates
The 2025 Citroen C5 Aircross brings a refreshed but familiar design, drawing inspiration from the Citroen Oli Concept from 2022. The SUV maintains a balance between sharp lines and smooth curves, giving it a modern and dynamic look.
At the front, the slim LED headlights and distinctive three-piece C-shaped LED DRLs have been carried over from the concept. Moving to the side, the concept’s flush door handles have been replaced with traditional pull-type ones for practicality. The SUV also gets bold plastic cladding around the wheel arches and a toned-down petal-shaped alloy wheel design.
One of the standout features is the detailing near the D-pillar, which creates a floating roof effect. The overall side profile appears muscular with a strong shoulder line. At the back, the C-shaped theme continues in the LED tail lamps, which are connected by a sleek light bar. The rear bumper also sports a stylish two-tone finish.
Bigger and More Spacious
While there are no images of the interior yet, the new C5 Aircross is expected to be more spacious than the current version. The concept model measured 4,650mm in length, which is 150mm longer than the existing C5 Aircross. This could translate to more cabin space and improved comfort.
Engine and Powertrain Options
The next-gen C5 Aircross will be the first Citroen model built on the STLA Medium platform. While official powertrain details are still under wraps, the SUV is expected to come with both hybrid and fully electric variants.
